Daniel S. Zechmeister, P.E., Executive Director
Daniel Zechmeister, P.E., AIA Detroit Honorary Affiliate has been the executive director of the Masonry Institute of Michigan since 1990. He is active in ASTM, and Masonry Standards Joint Committee. Dan also has been a lecturer of Structural Theory and Construction Materials at Lawrence Technological University in the College of Architecture and Design, and Structural Masonry Design at both Lawrence Technological University and Central Michigan University. Dan is a graduate of Wayne State University with a degree in civil engineering.
Kelly L. K. Walker, Architectural Services Director
Kelly Walker has been with the MIM since 1998 and is a graduate of Lawrence Technological University with a Bachelor of Science in Architecture. In addition to her degree, she has completed the Structural Masonry Design Course offered by LTU and has successfully passed the International Code Council's Special Inspector for Structural Masonry examination. Kelly is in charge of answering technical questions and reviewing details and plans.
Michelle Heitz, Office Manager
Michelle Heitz has been with MIM since 1991. As Office Manager, she is responsible for all the Institute's managerial affairs in support of the Mission Statement including: maintaining databases and website; assist the CPA with accounting, scheduling all meetings, conferences, seminars, workshops, etc.; and special events: Masonry Honor Awards Program and the MIM Scholarship Foundation Golf Outing.
